Diocese of York

Treasure is a course designed by the Children and Youth Team. It is aimed at helping everyone to think about how we engage with children and young people whether we are new to it or have been doing it for years, clergy or lay, young or old.

The course is made up of 4 x 2 hour sessions:

  1. 'Children and the Church' - what place do they have in the Church and the Kingdom?
  2. 'The World of Children and Young People' - they are not adults! what difference does this make?
  3. 'Leading and Learning' - what role do we play as adults?
  4. 'Safeguarding' - how we can give them every possible opportunity to grow and develop?

An extended version of this course is also being used as part of the 'RPA Recognised Parish Assistants" course.

Other Training

There are many varied training opportunities available for groups and individuals. These may be produced and run by other agencies in the area as well as further afield, including professional degree level courses.

It may be helpful to discuss your requirements further with any of the team, so that we can point you in the direction of what you may be looking for.
