Developing Our Deaneries

In March 2017, the Diocesan Synod committed the diocese to a new vision for the life of our deaneries as they seek to become ‘a local network of churches, inspiring, influencing and leading mission and ministry’. It is hoped that as they seek to fulfil this vision and the three purposes of ‘Enabling Mission’, ‘Resourcing Ministry’ and ‘Supporting Relationships,’ they will find renewal in the experience of their life together.

Deanery Development Group

The DDG has been created, under the leadership of Archdeacon of the East Riding the Ven Andy Broom, to oversee these developments and offer support and encouragement to each deanery as they discover how best to fulfil this vision in their particular context. The Group’s membership includes: Mrs Ros Brewer, the Revd Canon John Ford, the Revd Liz Hassall, Mr Ian Henley, the Revd Mike Proctor and the Revd Dr Gavin Wakefield.
