John and Nancy Eckersley have devised another Long Distance Walk for Christian Aid.

'The Coastliner Way' runs from Leeds to Malton and then splits into three prongs, one going to Whitby, one to Scarborough and one going to Filey/Bridlington.

On this occasion John and Nancy have decided to make most of the walks about 5 to 7 miles long, although in some cases two consecutive walks can usually be joined into a longer one if desired. Total mileage adds up to around 170 miles. The attraction of the walks is that they all start and finish at a Coastliner bus stop. This means that, apart from getting to the start of a walk, there is no need to use private transport.

Inauguration of the walks (the 'Launch Day') will take place at the end of Christian Aid Week on Saturday 20 May 2017.

The aim is that different walking groups and Christian Aid supporters will complete one or more of the 23 separate walk sections so that the whole 170 miles will be covered on the same day. Those taking part are being asked to get sponsorship for Christian Aid and the money they collect will be allocated to their own particular Church's Christian Aid Week effort.

The Big Question (in case you haven't guessed) is:

Would you be interested in walking one of the 23 legs on Launch Day?

Clearly, if it is possible for you to gather together a group of friends to do the walk with you, that would be great. It may seem a long way ahead but John and Nancy need to know as soon as possible so that all the different sections are covered.

So please, if you do feel able to commit yourself, can you let them know?

You can find the route on the attached map.
