Church Tourism Group visit to Holy Trinity Goodramgate, York

The Church Tourism Group has arranged a visit to Holy Trinity, Goodramgate, York (a C12th church under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust). The Custodian, Dawn Lancaster will show us round this amazing place which has hardly changed in hundreds of years. We shall also learn how they welcome school visits and special interest parties.

There is also new work being developed by the University of York and St John College Nottingham to produce an interactive CD-Rom which allows users to look at parts of the church, its history and the meaning of all the artifacts. HT, Goodramgate is a pilot study but later in the year many other churches will be able to use it for their own interpretation. This is a major initiative of interest to all churches which are visitor attractions.

Roy Thompson has arranged follow-on visits to All Saints, North Street and Holy Trinity, Micklegate, both of which are in the CoRE York project which handles events, promotion and visits for most of the city centre churches - for more details or to book a place, contact Roy on roythompson2@btinternet.com.
