Over recent months, two books have been published which make new and valuable contributions to the way that key elements of clergy life are understood today.

In The Widening Circle, Graham Tomlin explores an exhilarating new approach to priesthood. In a different vein, Clergy in a Complex Age’ by Jamie Harrison and Robert Innes (framed as a meditation upon the Guidelines for the Professional Conduct of Clergy) “is about imagination, explanation and encouragement … about hope and faithfulness … trust and being trusted … about confident clergy and being confident in clergy … it aims to give clergy renewed joy in the core values and the meanings of their calling as ministers of the gospel.”

In this session, led by Revd Canon Terry Joyce, Diocesan Clergy CMD Advisor, there will be a combination of input and teaching from both books, time for discussion and opportunities for reflection both in small groups and alone.

The day is an opportunity to share some new insights together and for review and refreshment as we inhabit public ministry.
