St Helen, Stonegate - Eucharist for St Aidan with Palestrina Mass setting.

As part of our series celebrating our Celtic heritage you are invited to St Helen, Stonegate for a special Sung Celtic Eucharist for St Aidan at 6pm on his festival day, Sunday August 31st.

St Aidan was one of the most important Celtic Saints and was sent from Iona to the island of Lindisfarne off the North East coast of Northumberland. From there he exercised a powerful and effective ministry of mission and pastoral care to the North of England.

The St John Consort will be our choir for this service and will sing the Palestrina Mass "Aeterna Christi munera". We very much look forward to welcoming them back again. More details can be obtained from Derek Earis derek@sthelensyork.org.uk Tel 07984 655662
