Founded in 1996, the York Schools and Youth Trust (YoYo) seeks to work with York schools and churches to bring the Christian faith alive.

We are aware that our week of prayer coincides with the week that the Archbishops of York and Canterbury have set aside for prayer across the country on the theme of ‘Thy Kingdom Come’.

We hope this means many churches will take up the call to pray and will include YoYo in their prayers. Please pray for us, wherever you are, during our week of prayer.

Faithfulness:

  • Remember God’s faithfulness and give thanks for the twenty years that YoYo has been working in the city sharing the Christian faith.

Fruitfulness:

  • Thank God for the fruitfulness of the past year when we have been able to visit more schools more often than before, reaching an estimated 17,200 children and young people.

Finance:

  • Pray for people and churches to respond to our current need for more regular giving to cover increased costs of pensions and salaries.
  • Give thanks for the people and churches who have responded already and those who regularly give.

Future:

  • Pray for our continued partnerships with local churches.
  • Pray for doors to be opened into the schools we don’t visit.
  • Pray for the work and witness of Christian teachers.
  • Pray that God will provide for our needs.

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?
And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?
And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Romans 10: 14-15
