Whilst nothing could quite emulate the Feeding the 5,000 from last year, crowds braved the blistering sunshine to enjoy entertainment and their own picnics in the setting of Queen's Gardens in Hull as Believe in Hull staged its major summer get-together.

Church communities and friends enjoyed the Big Picnic with free ice cream and cake, a treasure trail, games, puppets and a sing along with the Believe in Hull choir.

Next week brings the launch of Hull and East Yorkshire's Our Bus, a new space of safety, hospitality and creativity in Beverley.
