Archbishop Sentamu will spend four days in the Mowbray Deanery (which covers Northallerton and Thirsk and surrounding areas) starting on Saturday 2 January 2016 as part of his Pilgrimage of Prayer, Witness and Blessing.
During this time the Archbishop will lead services in many local churches as well as making a series of visits including schools, farms, the Friarage Hospital, Thirsk Clock youth project and Alanbrooke Barracks.
The Archbishop will be walking between many of these places and is keen to meet people as he goes. Explaining the purpose of his Pilgrimage to local church members, he said: “I will be taking every opportunity to talk to all those with whom I meet about the love of God made visible in Jesus Christ. I long for the people I meet to be refreshed in faith and hope in Christ, possibly for the first time.”

Saturday 2 January:
9.30am at St Lawrence Church East Rounton, to walk to West Rounton and on towards Welbury
12noon to 2pm in Northallerton High Street
3.30pm at Northallerton Tesco’s, to walk to Romanby
Sunday 3 January:
10am at the bottom of Clack Lane, to walk into Osmotherley
4.30pm to 5pm at the Gold Cup Inn, Nether Silton
Tuesday 5 January:
9.40am at South Kilvington roundabout, to walk into Thirsk
11.30am to 12noon in Thirsk Market Place
Wednesday 6 January:
9.30am at St Lawrence Church Carlton Miniott, to walk to Alanbrooke camp
1pm at St James Church Baldersby, to walk to Queen Mary’s School
4pm to 5pm at the Angel Inn, Topcliffe.
