Acts 435, the Archbishop of York’s online giving charity, is running a topical social media challenge this 3rd May, ahead of Thursday’s General Election focused on four things we can do that will make a difference to people living in poverty in the UK.

The four options - Act, Give, Pray, Shout – are set out in a ballot paper and show how the public can support people in need by giving, by praying and by spreading the word to others. Find out more here.

Executive Director Jenny Herrera explains “Not everyone remembers the order of the numbers in our name so this seemed a good way to reinforce that with 4 things you can do on the 3/5. Whether people respond to our charity or to one of many others working to help those in poverty, we hope people will use this opportunity to remember those less fortunate than themselves.”

Acts 435 is celebrating its 5th anniversary in 2015 and has helped more than 5,000 people with specific items that can make a big difference, such as a bed, unexpected travel costs or a debt relief order fee. With plans to make ‘4 things on the 3/5’ an annual campaign, Acts 435 hopes to continue to help many more.
