Archbishop Sentamu’s Pilgrimage of Prayer, Witness and Blessing continues this week at South Holderness. In this week (15th to 20th March 2016), Archbishop Sentamu has led a Lent course at Ottringham Village Hall, will celebrate St Patrick’s Day at St Patrick’s Church Patrington, and on Palm Sunday will walk through Withernsea accompanied by pilgrims and a donkey.

Archbishop Sentamu said: “I am looking forward to visiting South Holderness on my Pilgrimage and seeing more of all that God is doing in this wonderful part of the world”.

The Archbishop led the Deanery Lent Course at Ottringham Village Hall on Tuesday, after his visits to the villages and primary schools at Thorngumbald, Burstwick and Burton Pidsea. The Archbishop visited Hedon on Wednesday for market day and will be at Withernsea for their Friday market as well as visiting schools and villages in the area.

Patrington CE and Easington CE Primary Schools will celebrate St Patrick’s Day and the Archbishop’s Pilgrimage today (Thursday 17th March). In the evening, the Archbishop is to join the celebrations at St Patrick’s Church Patrington where he is to welcome the Revd Philip West as Assistant Priest in the South Holderness deanery.
The highlight of Saturday 19th March will be a ramble with the Archbishop leaving Paull Church at 2pm and returning there for tea and prayers.

Following the 8.30am service on Palm Sunday (20th March) at St Matthews, Owthorne at which the Archbishop is preaching – there will be a walk through Withernsea departing from the Tesco car park at 10.15am to Valley Gardens for Open Air Worship at 11am – all welcome. The Archbishop will be joined by Pilgrims along the route and the Palm Sunday procession includes a donkey.
