The Bishop of Whitby, Paul Ferguson will join the Archbishop of York and 24 other bishops from the Northern Province at the Crossroads Mission, which starts on Thursday (September 8th) in Blackburn diocese.

Crossroads is an opportunity for teams drawn across the Blackburn diocese and the North of England to unite together in locally organised mission, outreach and evangelism.

Led by Archbishop Sentamu, the Mission starts with a commissioning service at Blackburn Cathedral on Thursday afternoon. Then teams composed of a mix of lay people, youth workers, ordinands, clergy and led by a bishop will spread out to events in deaneries across Blackburn Diocese.

“It will be so good to spend four days in mission with the people in Lancaster and Morecambe, at the Archbishop’s and Bishop Julian’s invitation,” says Bishop Paul.

“Crossroads is a great opportunity for people to take a fresh look at the Christian faith and why the message of Jesus is relevant to us all in the 21st century.“We’ll be in the open air, in pubs and markets as well as in churches and schools. It’s a packed schedule and I’m really looking forward to having conversations with people one-to-one about the Gospel as well as being at some bigger events.”
