The Archbishop of York is calling on the public to make the most of Advent by using the newly published Love Life Live Advent to prepare to “make room for the manger” this Christmas.

Love Life Live Advent, published by Church House Publishing, contains 25 simple actions, prayers and reflections to help families make time to prepare for and celebrate the real meaning of Christmas.

Accompanying the book, www.liveadvent.net and social media accounts on Twitter and Instagram will be sharing each day’s action to inspire people to get involved. A video explaining about Love Life Live Advent is also available now, and features Archbishop Sentamu and the authors Paula Gooder and Revd Peter Babington talking about the ethos behind the book.

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, said, “I love Advent – it’s a wonderful season of watching and waiting for the big day to arrive. Christmas is coming – Make room for the manger!”

Mary Hawes, Church of England National Children and Youth Adviser, said, “What a great way of helping children think about the real meaning of Christmas! Love Life Live Advent is packed with a countdown of activity and reflection which children will love. It deserves a place alongside the Advent Calendar and Candle!”

The new publication is inspired by Love Life Live Lent, which has seen more than half a million people make a difference in the world through daily actions in preparation for Easter.

Love Life Live Advent is available now from Christian bookshops or via www.chpublishing.co.uk.
