The Bishop of Whitby, the Rt Revd Paul Ferguson and the Archdeacon of Cleveland, the Venerable Sam Rushton, are leading a Cleveland Celebration of Archbishop Sentamu’s Pilgrimage on Sunday 7 February 2016 at 6.30pm.

It will take place at Marton Church Hall, Stokesley Road, Middlesbrough TS7 8JU.

Bishop Paul said: “This celebration to be held at Marton-in-Cleveland next month is a wonderful opportunity for all to join in prayer and conversation and to share experiences of the Pilgrimage of Prayer, Witness & Blessing. All are welcome to join us at this public event”.

Archbishop Sentamu began his Pilgrimage at Whitby last December and has since journeyed through Guisborough, Middlesbrough, Stokesley, Mowbray and Northern Ryedale in the Cleveland Archdeaconry of the Diocese of York. The Archbishop began the East Riding section of his journey at Bridlington last week and his Pilgrimage continues this week at Scarborough. His Pilgrimage will finish in York Minster on Trinity Sunday (22 May 2016).

Archdeacon Sam said: “We have met all sorts of people in all sorts of places by being out on the road with the Archbishop. As I have spent this time with him, it has been fascinating to see his deep love for God and his relationship with Jesus, the depth of his prayerfulness and the speed at which he can walk!”
