St Johns Church, Bransholme, is inviting fellow churches, charity organisations and the people of Hull to help its food bank this Harvest. St Johns Church will be holding its Harvest Festival service on Sunday 28 September at 10.30am, and is asking for people to help those in need of food.

The Revd Matt Martinson, Vicar of St Johns church said, “There are people in Bransholme going to bed hungry tonight, and that’s just not acceptable. Our church has started a food bank to help people who aren’t able to feed themselves or their families, and we need your help this harvest.

“Harvest Festivals are a time when churches, schools and other groups come together to give thanks for the food we enjoy, and think about those who don’t have the food they need to thrive. So we’re asking fellow churches, schools, and anyone who cares, to help our food bank this autumn.

“If your church or school is holding a harvest service, or if you’re moved to help people in need, please do get in touch. We are able to take cans, dried, packet and all other types of food. We can pick the items up if you’re unable to drop them off at the church. Our food bank has already been making a difference in people’s lives in Bransholme, and we want to carry on helping.”
