If you care how the church carries out God’s mission and ministry in our communities, you can make a difference on Synod. Could you, or someone you know, stand for Synod in 2018 and make a difference?

The York Diocesan Synod is the representative governing body of the Diocese of York. Its Members—lay people, priests and bishops—work together to take forward the mission and ministry of the Church of England in this diocese and make decisions about our common future.

To this end, every deanery in the Diocese is asked, every three years, to elect new members to the Diocesan Synod to serve a three year term. This triennium comes at a pivotal moment as we develop ideas for achieving our strategic goals of Reaching, Growing and Sustaining. Synod provides an important opportunity to discuss, test and refine proposals and plans.
