Imagine yourself exiting the door of an aircraft at 10,000ft in the air, freefalling at a speed of 120mph through the clouds, before gliding back down to envious onlookers on the ground below.

Now imagine doing that with hundreds of other people as part of a world record breaking attempt.

Skydiving is an exhilarating rush like no other and The Children's Society are offering you and your congregation the chance to make it into the history books – by taking part in an attempt to break the world record for the most skydivers to jump for charity in one day, on Saturday 20 June 2015.

The participating airfields are in Durham, Lancaster, Peterborough, Northampton, Nottingham and Swindon. Why not get a group of parishioners to join forces, go along to your closest airfield and get your names into the record book? No experience is required, and if you each raise £395 in sponsorship money, you can even take part for free!

To sign up or download a poster to promote the event visit childrenssociety.org.uk/skydive. Places are limited, so sign up before the registration deadline, Friday 17 April 2015, to avoid missing out.

By encouraging people to take part in this event, you will be helping to change the stories of children living in poverty across the country. Children who are missing out on basic essentials, such as food and an education, and losing hope that things will get better. With the support and generosity of congregations like yours, we can succeed in changing their lives for the better.
