The Revd Jan Hardy will become the new Vicar of five churches in and around Barmby Moor at a service on Monday 13th October. The Bishop of Selby, the Rt Revd Dr John Thomson, will welcome Jan into her new role at St Catherine’s, Barmby Moor at 7.30pm. Jan will become the Vicar of St Botolph Allerthorpe, St Catherine Barmby Moor, St Martin Fangfoss, St Michael Thornton, and St Martin Yapham.

Jan comes to Barmby Moor from Thorpe Hesley in the Diocese of Sheffield, which was a partnership between the Church of England and the Methodist Church.

Jan said, “In my previous parish I worked as both a Church of England Vicar and a Methodist Minister. Although I’m only a Vicar in my new parishes, I’m really keen to work closely with churches from other denominations in the area. I’m looking forward to meeting all my parishioners in my new churches and helping people find God in their lives.

“I’m looking forward to the service at St Catherine’s Barmby Moor on Monday 13th October, and starting to get to know people in the churches. It’s great that I’m going to be officially put in my new role by Bishop John – he’s another person who’s come from the Diocese of Sheffield to the Diocese of York!”

Jan enjoys music and sport, particularly rugby, football and cricket. She lives with Bethan and Megan, her two Blue Roan Cocker Spaniels, and has already met many Cocker Spaniels whilst walking in her new parishes!
