The Cornerstone Coffee Shop in St Augustine’s Church, Skirlaugh (East Riding) held a Vintage Afternoon Tea to celebrate ten years since it opened.

The Coffee shop is held every Tuesday morning and has continued to give half of its profits to charitable causes. Since opening the shop has donated over £8,500 for 19 different local, national and international charities.

The vintage tea was attended by over 50 adults and children, including customers past and present, who enjoyed finger sandwiches, home-made cakes and scones with jam and clotted cream. A celebration cake was cut by the vicar, the Revd Andy Simpson, to complete the celebrations.

Judy Stott, Churchwarden of St Augustine’s, commented, ‘The celebration was a very happy occasion and a day to remember!’
