We regret to announce that Mrs Betty Bates, wife of the Rt Revd Gordon Bates, former Bishop of Whitby and Assistant Bishop in the Diocese, died on Sunday 17th August. Mrs Betty Bates will be remembered by many clergy and laity, particularly in the Archdeaconry of Cleveland, after her husband's years of ministry in the Diocese.
Betty's funeral will be held on Wednesday 27 August at 1pm at All Saints, Northallerton. The service will be led by Reader Bobby Cooper who is also a long-term friend of the family.
