Rachel Stark, Children & Families Worker for Trinity Youth & Children’s Project, speaks about what the Trinity Centre did with £1000 they were awarded by Enjoy the Ride from Middlesbrough Town Council:

"The Trinity Centre was awarded £1000 funding from Enjoy the Ride at Middlesbrough Council. We decided to run a two day workshop within the Easter holidays, which allowed us to keep children entertained and also aware of this fabulous event. We invited a local graffiti artist ‘Bobzilla’ to deliver the workshop. The children where creatively let loose on the bikes and we had some amazing results. They also made artwork from bike parts on foam boards with spray paint and designed Tour de Yorkshire logos on cycling shirts, which they will be wearing to the main event.

"We intend to display the finished bikes on display in the market place.

"Middlesbrough council have also agreed to fix any broken bikes and make them safe and ready to ride for the children who designed them."

The Trinity Centre is home to a number of community groups in heart of North Ormesby, an urban village about a mile from Middlesbrough town centre. The Trinity Youth & Children's Project aims to support children and young people in achieving their physical, mental, social and spiritual potential; so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.
