Three children from Dishforth CE Primary School are 1st, 2nd and 3rd place regional winners in the Amazon & CAA Design a Drone Competition!

Congratulations to Owen 1st place and regional winner for Yorkshire and Humberside, Molly 2nd and Imogen 3rd for their amazing drone designs.

Owen's winning design is the Alpha Heat 55 drone, which is for monitoring forests and altering authorities to forest fires. In second place was Molly for her Drone Brigade design which is works as a first response vehicle; in third is Imogen W for her Homeless Help drone design.

What a fantastic achievement by the children - the competition attracted 1700 entries, with Dishforth C of E the only school to have three regional winners! Owen's design will now go through to the national final along with the winning designs from each of the other regions, numbering 12 in total.

All three designers were presented with a super basket of books and goodies from Amazon. In addition to his baskets, Owen, as the regional winner has also won £1000 for the school to be spent on STEM (Science, Maths, Engineering & Technology) resources.
