Tickets are now on sale for Prom Praise York on Saturday 3rd October at York Barbican.

Famous worldwide for a unique voice in music, the All Souls Orchestra is returning to York with their flagship event. Under the energetic direction of principal conductor, Noël Tredinnick, Prom Praise is a joyful fusion of performance with worship. Combining the spirit of ‘Songs of Praise’ with the style of the world-famous ‘Last Night of the Proms’, the whole hall can join choir and orchestra in favourite hymns and worship songs.

Co-hosted by the Archbishop of York, the event will feature dynamic gospel artist, Beverley Trotman, who rose to fame when she reached the finals of The X-Factor, thrilling viewers with her rendition of Nina Simone’s ‘Feeling Good’. The audience can also prepare to be wowed by the virtuosic playing of the orchestra's principal trumpeter, Giles Fowler, in Alban's Carnival of Venice.

Singing will be led by the Prom Praise York Choir, an ecumenical group fresh from their performance at the Royal Albert Hall in April. They are delighted to be joined by the Chamber Choir of St Aidan’s C of E High School, Harrogate, who are previous winners of the Senior Choir of the Year in the BBC1 Songs of Praise Choir competition.

Discounts for groups of 10+ and for young people under the age of 17 offer a great opportunity for you to consider bringing a group from your church to enjoy this spiritually uplifting and inspiring evening. Together we can fill the hall with praise! If you are interested in singing with the Prom Praise York Choir, please email choir@prompraiseyork.org.uk
