St Peter’s CofE Primary School, Brotton, has been given the ‘Outstanding’ grade in its recent SIAMS inspection.

Headteacher Richard Unthank said, "The School Leaders and Governors are extremely pleased with the outcome of our recent Church School Inspection. To retain our outstanding status under a more demanding set of measures is a magnificent achievement. The Inspector has rightly highlighted the many achievements the school continues to make recognising the support we give our children inside and outside the classroom, the progress they make and the strong partnerships we have with parents, St Margaret’s Church and the extended community.

"RE Subject Leader Claire Chapman and Father Jonathan, Rector of St Margaret’s Church have provided great leadership of both staff and children. Their hard work alongside the staff and governors has been acknowledged with a wonderful report."

Inspector Judy Jones stated "The strong and explicit Christian ethos is the foundation for excellent relationships throughout the school and contributes substantially to children’s development."

She continued "Children see themselves as part of a family and speak warmly about their sense of belonging. As a result, they can confidently ask for help and look for ways of supporting each other. Collective Worship is enriched by the regular and frequent visits of the rector of the local church. This is a very outward looking school and partnerships with the diocese and the community are excellent."

Well done to everyone at St Peter’s CofE Primary School, Brotton!
