On Holy Saturday (26 March 2016), eight Christians from different denominations were baptised by being totally immersed in a tank of water on the steps of the Minster.

Hundreds of excited people gathered to watch the baptisms take place on the steps of the Minster's south entrance, led by The Bishop of Beverley, the Rt Revd Glyn Webster, and supported by the ministers from the individual churches.

The service of baptism marks the tenth anniversary of Easter baptisms which are organised by One Voice York, a network of Christian churches and leaders of different denominations working together across the city.
