The Revd Martin Baldock was collated as a Canon of York by the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, during a service led by the Rt Revd Paul Ferguson, Bishop of Whitby, in the Chapel at Bishopthorpe Palace on the 13th June.

Martin Baldock has been Vicar of Dringhouses, York, since 2000 and will retire on the 31st August this year. As a Canon of York he occupies the historic 'Prebend of Strensall' (now an honorary title) and will continue to be a member of York Minster's College of Canons after his retirement from Dringhouses.

Canon Baldock made his Declaration of Assent and oaths, and the Archbishop's Mandate concerning his admission was handed to the Very Revd Vivienne Faull, Dean of York.
