We are delighted to welcome our new Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser, Julie O’Hara.

Based at the diocesan office at Clifton Moor, York, Julie brings a wealth of experience to a role that involves training, support, advice and managing issues relating to safeguarding across the diocese.
Julie’s career began in probation and youth justice services; since then she has held safeguarding roles within a local authority – both in front line practice and, most recently in a strategic management capacity.

“As a practising Christian, I am now looking forward to contributing to this important area of work within a faith-based setting,”
says Julie.

Anyone with questions or concerns about safeguarding can contact us on safeguarding@yorkdiocese.org or 01904 699500.

During Julie’s first weeks in post, Safeguarding concerns should be raised initially with Beth Miller, Safeguarding Adviser in the Diocese of Durham, who continues to support Safeguarding in the Diocese of York until mid-July 2017.

Call Beth Miller on 07968 034075 or email safeguarding@yorkdiocese.org.
