Did you know, members of congregations from across the Diocese of York are welcome to visit York Minster free of charge whenever they visit York? Each year, York Minster posts 10 free passes to each church (care of your PCC secretary). These passes can be borrowed from your PCC if you’re coming to York and want to visit the Minster, and then given back to your PCC so another parishioner can use the card. The passes for 2015 will be sent to PCC secretaries in early December, and these will replace the Parish Pass 2014 (and also any Diocesan entry passes still in circulation).

The Dean of York, the Very Revd Viv Faull said, “York Minster is the mother church for the Diocese of York, and we want members of all congregations across the Diocese to be able to visit us. We have to find £20,000 a day to sustain the mission and ministry of the Minster, much of that comes from the support we generate from our 500,000+ visitors a year. As part of our commitment to support the work of the Archbishop in the Diocese we'd like to invite you all to visit the Minster free of charge and so are sending the 2015 passes out to your PCC secretaries, with the greetings of the Minster Community as you journey through Advent to Christmas. We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible during 2015.”

If you are a PCC Secretary and have any questions about the Passes, please contact Laura Cookson, PA to the Dean of York, on 01904 557218 or laurac@yorkminster.org. If you are a member of a congregation and want to borrow a pass, please speak to your PCC secretary.
