The Revd Rachel Bailes, Anglican Chaplain at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, retired on the 31st December 2021.

The Revd Simon Biddlestone, Priest in Charge of Nether Poppleton with Upper Poppleton, and Acomb Holy Redeemer, has been appointed as Vicar of Nether Poppleton with Upper Poppleton, and Acomb Holy Redeemer.

The Revd Anna Burr, Priest in Charge of Haddlesey with Hambleton and Birkin, and Carlton and Drax, retired on the 31st December 2021.

The Revd Michael Bushby, Priest in Charge (House for Duty) of the Newbald, has been reappointed for one year.

The Revd Jackie Doyle-Brett, Priest in Charge of Derwent Ings, has been appointed by the Bishop of Selby to be Area Dean of Derwent for a period of five years in succession to the Revd Canon Nick Bird. She has additionally been appointed as Priest in Charge of Escrick, Stillingfleet and Naburn.

The Revd Dianne Gamble, Interim Priest-in-Charge of Osmotherley with Harlsey and Ingleby Arncliffe; Cowesby; Felixkirk with Boltby; Kirkby Knowle; Leake with Over and Nether Silton and Kepwick and Deanery Change Management Support has been reappointed for a further fixed term of three years.

The Revd Carmel Gittens, Assistant Curate of Alne, and cross-licensed to the other Benefices of the Deanery of Easingwold, retired on the 17th January.

The Revd Matthew Martinson, most recently Priest in Charge of the Carlisle St Luke, Holy Trinity and St Barnabas, has been appointed as Chaplain to HMP Humber with effect from 5th January.

The Revd David Messer, Rector of Walkington, Bishop Burton, Rowley and Skidby, has been appointed for three years as interim Priest-in-Charge of Skirlaugh, Catwick, Long Riston, Rise, Swine with Ellerby and of Sigglesthorne with Nunkeeling and Bewholme.He will be licensed by the Archdeacon of the East Riding at 7.30pm on Tuesday, 8th March in St Augustine, Skirlaugh.

The Revd Mike Perkins, Assistant Curate of York St Michael le Belfrey, has become Priest-in-Charge of the Benefice of Heworth Holy Trinity (York).

The Revd Matthew Strand, Vicar of Kirkleatham, has resigned to be Rector of Chester le Street in the Diocese of Durham. His final services will be on Sunday, 13th February in the Parish Church of St Hilda’s (9.30am) and St Cuthbert’s (11.15am), Kirkleatham.

The Revd Philip West, Assistant Curate (SSM) to all the Benefices of the Deanery of South Holderness, is to be re-licensed for a further two years.

The Revd Louise White, Assistant Curate of Hull, St Martin with the Transfiguration, has been appointed as Assistant Curate of Kingston upon Hull Most Holy and Undivided Trinity (Hull Minster).

The Revd Christopher Wilton, Vicar of Sherburn-in-Elmet with Saxton has been appointed additionally as Priest-in-Charge of Ledsham with Fairburn. His licensing by the Bishop of Selby will be held at 7.30pm on 24 February 2022 in All Saints, Ledsham.
