All face-to-face training events are to stop from March 2020 until further notice, following a decision by the diocesan training team in the light of the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19.

Looking ahead and where possible we will see if we can sensibly deliver training via a variety of online means, especially the modules delivered through York School of Ministry. Here are some further details:

York School of Ministry
Lynn Comer and Jo Jones have been making arrangements to complete this term’s modules and if you are enrolled on those you should have heard from them directly about those arrangements. If you are unsure about what to do please consult your module leader, Lynn or Jo.

The YSOM team is currently working out how to deliver the modules for the summer term remotely and will be in touch soon via Moodle. We are confident that we can deliver the modules and assessment so that you can complete this year’s programme.

RPA courses are suspended for the time being and we will consult locally as to when is the best time to start up again.

CMD and other individual training events
At this stage we have not been able to put any of these events online but we are hopeful that many events in the programme will be run at a later stage. We will publicise these as soon as possible, though realistically that is some way off.

IME2 for curates in training
The IME2 programme is currently suspended with Elaine, Pete and Catherine looking at how the material can be picked up later in the year.

We are in discussion with the bishops about the curacy assessment panels and we will be in direct contact with curates and training incumbents as the situation unfolds.

Although the diocesan office is closed at present all Training Team members are familiar with working from home and we are contactable, preferably via email in the first instance.

We hope and pray that you know God’s presence in this challenging time, and are able to find ways to share God’s love and peace.
