SUMMARY:Where did it all go wrong? Navigating difficult conversations on social media
DESCRIPTION:We’ve all seen how quickly an innocent social media post can turn into a heated argument. But why does it happen\, and what can we do when it does? \nThis webinar explores why social media can be such a divisive place\, how algorithms can amplify conflict\, and the influence of bots\, misinformation\, and disinformation. \nWe’ll look at how to engage confidently and respectfully in difficult conversations\, respond to online abuse\, and protect your own wellbeing. Using realistic parish examples\, we’ll also explore how to manage difficult comments on church social media pages\, including when to respond\, hide or remove comments\, block users\, or turn off comments altogether. \nThe webinar is designed for clergy\, parish officers\, volunteers\, and anyone involved in managing church social media. No specialist knowledge or technical experience is needed. \nFormat: 30 minute presentation followed by 15 minutes for questions and discussion. \nThere will also be an opportunity to arrange a one-to-one follow-up conversation with the diocesan Communications Team.
