These are really important elements of parish life\, but many clergy don’t have much training on them before starting their ministry. \nIn plenary sessions and small group discussion\, we will create a space for you to consider your own experiences of money\, how money works in the CofE\, and within parishes. At the end\, we’ll equip you with a range of resources about giving\, generosity and fundraising that can help as you begin your curacy. \nThe session will be informal and confidential to give participants a relaxed opportunity to think about an area of church life that can be challenging. DESCRIPTION:Can you see yourself at the heart of village communities\, sharing our York Diocesan vision of Living Christ’s Story\, and building up the people of your parishes in mission and ministry? \nIn the beautiful Archdeaconry of York we have three rural  vacancies which we would like to share with you during our Rural Benefices Open Day. Come and pray with us\, and discern whether God is calling you to join us. \nBuckrose Carrs Benefice is a group of 6 parishes between the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds\, along the A64. The vacancy has previously been advertised as a House for Duty Post but it is hoped that this can be offered as a full-time post. \nGarrowby Hill Benefice is a group of 5 parishes 15 miles east of York and is a half-stipend post. Their worship includes formal sacramental and informal family worship\, enabling people to find a home to nurture their Christian faith. \nRural Ainsty Benefice is a single parish covering five churches and offers a half-stipend post to the west of York. They are a flock seeking a shepherd and excited to explore God’s plans for His Kingdom among their communities. \nThe Open Day will include a tour of the three benefices\, stopping at each to share their hospitality\, meet key people and hear their future plans. DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE – OUR SESSIONS ARE ONLY FOR THOSE WORKING IN AND WITH CE SCHOOLS IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK \nThis new Chairs Development Network is designed to provide both training opportunities to enhance Chairs and aspiring Chairs around vision led strategic leadership\, together with an opportunity to network with other Chairs and aspiring Chairs to share practice and discuss both opportunities and challenges. \nEngagement with the network will help to promote: \n\nDevelopment of your governance leadership skills to enable you to effectively develop and lead the strategic direction of your board;\nDevelopment of your understanding of the role of a Chair in a church school in leading the vision and ensuring it has impact;\nAn understanding of your role within the context of school improvement and the role of the board in supporting and challenging the educational flourishing of your school as a church school including a focus on preparation for inspection;\nLearning how to develop your boards’ effective monitoring and evaluation of the schools’ theologically rooted Christian vision;\nOpportunities to network with other chairs from other similar schools to you to share best practice and discuss wider matters.\n\nThese sessions are intended to compliment the deeper training provided as part of our Development and Digging Deeper sessions. SUMMARY:Free Will Offer - Cleveland Archdeaconry Meeting (Morning)
DESCRIPTION:In 2022\, Diocesan Synod agreed a strategic plan for the Diocese of York to achieve our vision for ‘Living Christ’s Story’. Our aspiration is that\, through focusing our efforts on ‘revitalised growth’ in our parishes\, we might not only see a more fruitful living out of Christ’s mission in the world\, but we might also achieve a more sustainable financial situation. \nOur aim is that parishes will\, through growth and generous giving\, grow their income to sustain local mission and ministry. Along with this\, that generosity would also result in more income to pay for the stipendiary ministry and other support that parishes receive\, through the Free Will Offer. \nWe are holding a number of meetings in June 2025 to which the Bishops and Archdeacons are inviting clergy\, churchwardens\, treasurers and members of PCCs to explain where we are and what we need to do next to achieve a financially sustainable diocese. DESCRIPTION:Governor Online \nPLEASE NOTE – OUR SESSIONS ARE ONLY FOR THOSE WORKING IN AND WITH CE SCHOOLS IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK \nThese hour-long forums give Church school governors the opportunity to learn about new guidance and initiatives\, explore existing responsibilities and share best practice. Education Team Officers will provide a question and answer session to meet the current needs of foundation governors and chairs. \nNo booking is required – All sessions are held online via Zoom with details for each session being circulated in the Monday email. A reminder is also sent to all foundation governors around a week or so before each session. \nEach term there will be 2 sessions on the same day; 1 at 2.00pm and the other repeated at 7.00pm. Governors are welcome to drop in to whichever session is most convenient for them. \n\nTuesday 3rd June 2025\, 2.00pm/7.00pm – the evening session is the last of these sessions for this academic year\n\nCost \n\nThese sessions are provided free of charge for schools in the service level agreement
