SUMMARY:Chairs of Governors Development Programme
DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE – OUR SESSIONS ARE ONLY FOR THOSE WORKING IN AND WITH CE SCHOOLS IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK \nThe Chair of Governors Development Programme supports current and aspiring Chairs and Vice Chairs (at both whole board and committee levels) to strengthen their vision led strategic leadership of Church schools and academies. It offers focused development opportunities relating to board leadership across a broad range of governance matters\, alongside opportunities for networking with peers to share practice and explore common challenges. \nThe programme will be delivered via Zoom over 4 sessions over a 2 year period as follows: \nSession 1: Tuesday 3rd November – 6.00pm – 8.00pm – The role of the Chair and vision driven\, effective leadership. \nSession 2: Thursday 29th April 2027 – 6.00pm – 8.00pm – Strategic leadership and developing relationships with leaders. \nFollowing successful completion of the above sessions\, delegates will be able to complete sessions 3 & 4 as follows: \nSession 3: Accountability\, Assurance and Planning \nSession 4: An optional 1:1 discussion. \nPlease note\, Sessions 3 & 4 will take place in the academic year 2027 / 28. Amidst the competing priorities\, rapid change and the complex society we live in\, it can be hard to know where to begin having honest conversations about our differences and disagreements. \nDifference for Primary schools is a free suite of resources to help your pupils navigate an increasingly complex world\, embracing difference and championing a culture of courage\, hope and empathy. Rooted in Christian values and using Children’s literature as a guide\, Difference is designed to support real change by embedding three formational habits: Be Curious\, Be Present & Reimagine. This training session will equip you to run the Difference Program in your school. \nEach participant will be given a login to download all the materials at the end of the session. \nThe session will be via Zoom. \nCost \nThis is free of charge and will include access to resources. \nBookings will close on 30th October. \nThis course is only for those working in schools in the Diocese of York.
