• Are you looking for change, challenge and adventure?

  • Can you give life and inspiration to volunteer teams?
  • We would love to hear from you.

St Oswald's, Sowerby, is a welcoming and active church with great growth possibilities because of local population increase. Our work with children and young people has developed over the last 10 years through a team led by a part-time Development Worker, who is retiring. At the same time the Mowbray Deanery is developing plans to increase cross-parish ministry.

We are now looking to recruit a full-time post which we envisage will involve both direct delivery within our parish and training and mentoring lay teams in other parishes in the Deanery. We are therefore looking for someone with a mix of experience and enthusiasm with a committed and growing Christian faith who is keen to share that faith with young people.

37.5 hours per week, Salary £24,000 - £26,000 depending on experience; plus pension contribution.

There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the post-holder to be a practising, baptised Christian, to be sympathetic with the creeds of the Church of England, and to agree with the vision, values, and ministry strategy of the PCC. References and DBS enhanced check will be required. You will need a driving licence and access to a car or similar as we are a rural area.

Your application must reach us by Sunday 30 November 2021.
