Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Book-keeping of all financial transactions

2. To input financial information onto Paxton, including from on line donations

3. To pay all invoices promptly

4. To do all the banking for the charity

5. To manage all the Gift Aid claims

6. Handling annual tax letter to all donors

7. To manage the cash flow

8. To manage and pay expense claims

9. To keep the donor database up to date

10. To communicate effectively with the Treasurer, the Chair of trustees, the Executive Officer and the board of trustees

11. To provide the Treasurer with the necessary information for him to report to the 6 yearly trustee meetings and prepare the annual budget and accounts.

This job description is not exhaustive. From time to time the post holder may be asked by the Executive Officer to undertake other appropriate duties.

Person Specification

• Experience and understanding of book-keeping

• Excellent financial and IT skills

• Sympathetic to the Trust’s objectives and Statement of Faith

• Well organised and calm under pressure

• Self motivated

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to complete tasks accurately and on time

• Ability to work and act to instructions and on own initiative when required

• Some experience and knowledge of charity accounts would be an advantage
