Expressions of interest are requested from compassionate and caring ordained or accredited ministers of a church affiliated to Churches Together in Britain and Ireland to join a vibrant and supportive Chaplaincy team at York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to be based either at York or at Scarborough hospitals.
To help support the out-of- hours on call rota that provides for urgent spiritual care.
At York: for a minimum of availability for being ‘on call’ one evening and overnight session per week and one Saturday per month. Chaplains would be expected to respond to an emergency call and be on site within one hour so a local residency would be required. At Scarborough: to provide 7.5 hrs cover on site for one day per week, preferably Fridays, but also to include one Sunday a month and to offer the equivalent of one evening and overnight session availability per week on call. Extra sessional work may also be available as and when need arises.
Salary: Trust On-Call availability agreement rates and AFC Band 6 (currently £31, 365 pro rata) for any work done on site.

Key Role

It is essential that applicants are able to be licensed by (or hold permission to officiate in) their relevant denomination. Significant prior pastoral experience is essential and previous practice in healthcare would be desirable, together with a willingness to work respectfully with people of all faiths and none.
