The Diocese of York is a family of clergy, churches, parishes and schools; led and guided by the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell. Together, we are striving to be a people who are “Living Christ’s Story”. We are developing and delivering strategic programmes focused on our aims: Becoming more like Christ; Reaching those we currently don’t; Growing churches of missionary disciples; and Transforming our finances and structures.

We are investing very significantly in two key programmes to reach people, make disciples and launch new worshipping communities among two overlapping demographics. Our Mustard Seed programme aims to grow disciples in places where life is tough; and our Multiply programme aims to grow disciples among those in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

We seek an administrator for a maternity cover contract. You will be educated to A-level or equivalent standard and have previous administrative experience. You will be self-motivated and highly organised, adept at being a key team player, even when working remotely. You will have a professional manner, a flexible approach, and be confident in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.

You will work across our Multiply and Mustard Seed programmes, providing administrative support and office management to the teams, who are geographically dispersed across the Diocese. You will work closely on a day-to-day basis with those delivering the programmes, acting as a point of contact, managing information, and providing support to governance meetings.

The role is available 24.5 hours per week, with flexibility about the pattern of hours. The role is based from our modern, open-plan office at Clifton Moor, York, although there is scope for regular homeworking. We offer a good salary, holiday and pension, together with additional benefits such as our employee assistance programme. Most importantly, we offer the opportunity to play a part in an organisation at the heart of spiritual and community life in the region.

The deadline for applications is midnight on Monday 22 August 2022.

Interviews are scheduled for Thursday 1 September 2022.
