Centering Prayer prepares us to receive the gift of God's presence and for resting in God in contemplative prayer. It was developed in the 1970's by Father Thomas Keating and other Trappist monks at St Joseph's Abbey in Spencer, Massachusetts. It is firmly rooted in ancient Christian tradition, inspired by a centuries old Christian text, The Cloud of Unknowing.
The workshop will be facilitated by Elizabeth Smith, Director of Contemplative Outreach UK, a spiritual network of individuals and faith communities committed to living the contemplative dimension of the Gospel. Refreshments will be provided from 9.30am. Please bring a pack lunch. Fee: £20.00 to cover costs.
