Creative Responses to Dementia

An Event for Churches that want to be more Dementia Friendly

Together Middlesbrough and Cleveland are hosting this conference as part of their Faithfully Ageing Better programme in partnership with Livability. This important event is for people from any church that wants to reach out and support people living with dementia and their carers.

Creative Responses to Dementia is an invitation to churches, people living with dementia and their carers, faith-based community and voluntary sector organisations and health and social care practitioners to explore how we can support people living with dementia as well as their carers, and to share the challenges involved.

What will the event cover?

Creative Responses to Dementia is an event which celebrates creativity and its relationship to dementia through a series of inspiring talks, practical workshops, and theological reflection. There will be opportunity to share the challenges and joys of supporting those who live with dementia and their carers.

The day will include:

  • A keynote address from David Richardson, dementia coordinator for Churches Together in Cumbria
  • A range of workshops including worship, music and memories, spirituality, and Godly Play for people living with dementia.

How much does the event cost?

This event is free to book, refreshments and a buffet lunch are provided and donations to cover costs are welcome on the day. This conference is being funded by the Faithfully Ageing Better project; a partnership between Together Middlesbrough and Cleveland and Ageing Better Middlesbrough.
