This session will explore the following: What is clergy discipline about and how should it be practiced? How might safeguarding and discipline work better together?
This will be an interactive session with participants encouraged to bring their questions to aid and inform the discussion.
Speaker Peter Collier has retired after a career in the law as a barrister and then a judge. His practice was in the areas of family law and criminal law. In retirement Peter chaired an Ecclesiastical Law Society Working Party reviewing the Clergy Discipline Measure 2003 and is now a member of the Implementation Group looking at how it should be replaced. Peter lives in York and is a Reader serving at York Minster.
