Suicide Awareness

Responding to someone who is saying they are suicidal, or who you think may be suicidal can leave you feeling anxious and unsure what to do, a life is at stake.

The aims of this session are to:

  • To increase awareness of suicidal thoughts and feelings.
  • To look at suicide risk.
  • To explore how best to help those who are feeling suicidal.

Andrew De Smet is the York Diocesan Coordinator and Adviser in Pastoral Care, a parish priest, counsellor/psychotherapist, mediator and spiritual director with experience in training, and a former Samaritan volunteer.
