The Thy Kingdom Come Beacon Event in York Minster from 7.30pm to 9.00pm on Pentecost Day, Sunday 20th May 2018 is an evening of worship and prayer hosted by York Minster and The Belfrey alongside One Voice York, part of a global wave of prayer between Ascension (10th May) and Pentecost.

Speaking at the event is the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, with prayers led by church leaders from across York, worship led by Belfrey Music and testimony from people who have come to faith in the last 12 months.

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement, which invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. What started out as an invitation from the Archbishops of York and Canterbury in 2016 to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.

A number of these Beacon events are taking place around the country. These are designed to gather, ignite and inspire worship and intercession for a generation to rise up with a fresh passion and confidence for the proclamation of the Gospel.

The event is open to all with young people particularly encouraged to attend. Doors will open at 6.45pm, with the service starting at 7.30pm.
