On Saturday 12 May 2018, York Minster will be celebrating the completion of the restoration of the Great East Window. John and Nancy Eckersley, long-time Christian Aid supporters and long-distance walkers, are inviting people to join them on a pilgrimage to York Minster. The pilgrims will arrive on the eve of Christian Aid Week in time for the celebration, and will collect sponsorship for Christian Aid. You can journey for as long or short a time as you wish-a day, a few days, a week-and on foot or bicycle.

  • Day 1 Saturday 5th May: Filey to Staxton (10 miles)
  • Day 2 Sunday 6th May: Staxton to Sherburn (6.5 miles)
  • Day 3 Monday 7th May: Sherburn to Rillington (9.5 miles)
  • Day 4 Tuesday 8th May: Rillington to Malton (8.5 miles)
  • Day 5 Wednesday 9th May: Malton to Whitwell on the Hill (8.8 miles)
  • Day 6 Thursday 10th May: Whitwell to Harton (Gulf Oil Garage) (7 miles)
  • Day 7 Friday 11th May: Harton to Stockton on the Forest (5.5 miles)
  • Day 8 Saturday 12th May: Stockton to York (7.5 miles)
