Commenting on the service, Vivienne Faull said that the appointment of the new Canons Provincial, recognises their outstanding commitment, support and contribution to the life of the Church, their communities and to wider society over many years. “The honorary title of Canon Provincial allows us in particular to recognise individuals who made a distinguished contribution to the building up of Church and society, not least in the North of England, and to honour our links with other churches within the Anglican Communion and beyond.”
