That’s how Fr Terry Leathley and his parishioners do outreach in Brambles Farm, Middlesbrough, where their own church building had to be demolished due to structural problems ten years ago.

With much prayer Fr Terry and his team came up with the coffee idea, and after hard fundraising were delighted to be able to buy an almost new three-wheeled

coffee van which takes up position around the estate to dispense free coffee and exchange news, chat and wisdom.

“We’re trying to remind people that actually God is still here in their midst,” Fr Terry told Archbishop Sentamu when he visited in November.

“Lots of people who come up to me are chatting about their faith and chatting about life.

“We are trying to be a signpost towards God.”
