Together Middlesbrough and Cleveland (TMC) is seeking applications for a new leader – "Someone with the verve, creativity and professional experience to drive forward the further development of the charity’s high quality work in tackling poverty and supporting local communities to thrive and flourish across the two boroughs of Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland".

The vacancy arises following the appointment of outgoing Development Officer Heather Black to be the first Team Leader for the Mustard Seed project in the Diocese of York.

Together Middlesbrough and Cleveland is a joint venture of the Diocese of York with the Church Urban Fund.

The post needs someone who has empathy with the needs of people experiencing multiple deprivation, and who understands the critical role played by faith-based social action – who is able to act both strategically, but when required, willing to step in and directly help deliver.

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with TMC's Board of Trustees and provide strong strategic and operational leadership as the charity continues to develop its highly successful track record, and respond creatively to the financial challenges currently faced by the voluntary sector more generally.

TMC is currently finalising its five year business plan and several significant developments are underway.
