Bishop of Selby Dr John Thomson has written the foreword for 'Don't fuss, Love God, Don't fuss', a new book of reflections based on the sermons of the Revd Stuart Bamforth (1935-2015), who ministered in the Pocklington area during the last 14 years of his retirement.

Ruth A Bamforth has drawn a series of thought pieces from her late father's sermons which consider questions people often ask as they explore their faith, including: What is a Christian? What is prayer? How should I pray? What does the Lord's Prayer actually mean?

'Don't fuss, Love God, Don't fuss' seeks to answer these and other questions in a straightforward, down to earth, and unapologetic way as well as pose questions of the reader for individual or group reflection.

Bishop John writes: "Sermons are theology on the go, spoken thoughts about the ways of God with us and with the world… they help us imagine what it looks like to live Christ’s story in time and place as we seek to love God and be released from our own self-preoccupation."

An ecumenical crowd attended the launch of 'Don't fuss, Love God, Don't fuss' at Wakefield Cathedral on the 15th January, and enjoyed listening to Ruth explain how she came to put her book together before a lively question and answer session.

Ruth's book includes a short biography of Fr Stuart to show how he practised what he preached.
