Due to Covid restrictions this year's Conference was held online via Zoom; a recording of the talks given by former Bishop of Oxford the Rt Revd John Pritchard has been edited into two sections which can be accessed here (click on the videos), or on the Diocese of York's Vimeo account at vimeo.com/dioceseofyork.

  • Part 1 covers from the beginning of the conference to the coffee break halfway through.
  • Part 2 picks up from the coffee break to the end of the conference, including questions at the end.

Writing before the Conference, Bishop John said,

"For a Christian, to pray is to breathe.
It’s essential to staying alive.
But that doesn’t mean it’s easy.
Nor does it mean we’ve ever ‘got it sorted.’
As deacons we all know our need of help if we’re to breathe deeply and to help others to breathe with us.
So this day will be given to the vital experience of prayer, both for ourselves and for others.
We’ll ponder and pray, think and practise.
And I hope we’ll talk, laugh, and perhaps take some new things away.
I look forward to being with you."
