The Cow Shed Tea Shop on Fraisthorpe Beach, Bridlington, was the venue for one of several Breakfast gatherings on the Saturday of our ‘Come and See’ Mission (12-15 March), and an opportunity to ‘Quiz the Bishop’ – in this case Bishop Graham Cray, a retired assistant bishop in the York diocese leading the Come and See team in the Bridlington Deanery. John Carter was there:

Fresh from interviewing comedian Jimmy Cricket and before moving on to blessing clocks, Bishop Graham, one time Vicar of St Michael-le-Belfrey, York, shared his Christian faith ("Ive had my breakfast grill and now I am being grilled!") answering questions from the floor, put to him by some of the forty or so fellow fast-breakers.

"Particularly here in Bridlington we want to demonstrate how committed the church is to the community.

"So I’ve done a blessing on the harbour and the fishing boats, on the regeneration project in the centre of town, and I’ll be at a rugby club dinner and a special dinner for the lifeboats as well as blessing the clock."
