The Revd Canon Mandy Coutts is to be the Diocese of York's new Start of Ordained Ministries Adviser.

Mandy is currently Canon for Mission and Pastoral Development at Bradford Cathedral.

As part of embedding a culture of lifelong learning in the Diocese, Mandy will oversee the formation of those starting ordained ministry from the beginning through to the early stages of a post of responsibility. She brings with her skills and experience as a teacher and adult educator, rich ministerial and pastoral expertise along with a commitment to the wellbeing of those in ministry.

Mandy joins the Lifelong Learning team at a time when the formation of ordained ministers who can enable the gifts of others lies at the heart of Living Christ’s Story. She will be involved in encouraging both new and existing patterns of ordained ministry.

Lynn Comer, Director of the Lifelong Learning Team, said: “This is a really exciting appointment; Mandy will bring both freshness and experience to our vital work in nurturing and guiding those starting out in ordained ministry in the Diocese of York. I look forward to getting to know her better as she becomes a much-valued member of our team.”

Mandy Coutts said, “I am absolutely delighted and honoured to be joining the team at York and look forward to working together.”

Mandy will join the Diocese of York's Lifelong Learning team on September 19th.
